Chips With A Side of Debt

I remember the good old days of getting a  plum fish and chips with drippings of salt and burger sauce , and if I’m feeling naughty a minced beef onion pie in a newspaper as god intended.
Wow have times changed it feels like you have to take out a mortgage to enjoy a chippy dinner.
Would you believe in 1950 it cost for cod and chips 10p.
Seriously times have changed and for the worse .
Now fish and chip is almost £20 and that’s  medium size.
I know you cant have something for nothing traders too have to up their prices to stay afloat.
I found out due to energy costs, war and extreme weather it affects the price but it still feels like extortion paying those prices.
My locally chippy is a ghost town no-one goes in and they have ended up closing early every working day.
Even when they do have customers some people just buy  a portion of chips and even that they struggle to raise change.
What I have concluded the erasing of fish and chips from the high street will contribute to the loss of british identity in a sense.
But there has to be a balance there’s no true justification for the rising  prices when  the product is getting smaller and everyone is feeling the pinch.
What I will say people if your a fish chip treat lover invest in humbles mccain chips  and  bird’s eye frozen breaded cod at home.
Your filling your stomach without breaking the bank.
