I too made the mistake of misusing my vote for a top politician, and after they won.
I got discarded like a used tissue.
I remember the cheeky chancer got their aide to phone me and ask me to officially back them which i did then after no thanks.
So if I’m good for a phone call why not an acknowledgement for my troubles.
But I’ve confirmed if you want a thank you a politician in this current time in British politics you’ll be waiting a long time.
Except you have connections to the top, you are essentially worthless.
Even when I had no thank you no nothing.
The other unforgivable snub. I wasn’t even invited to their historic opening ceremony in the city.
What shocked me people that didn’t vote for them were invited even got jobs which I never got offered, and it got me to realise Nigerians ain’t valuable in Britain and are of no substance in senior political roles.
That’s why I made a personal vow to never be used by another slick politician in my life again.
I’d rather on election days if the candidates ain’t good kickback with a plate of efo -riro with my mates in the living room while catching up on my Desperate Housewives boxset.
We the black in Britain especially of african origin always tend to be overlooked and relegated to the back.
I wont lie this politician’s snub hurt like a knife to my chest. But I’m grateful for this experience as you learn everyday.
But the moral of my experience is vote your conscience.
Don’t vote someone just because they are the same skin colour religion and tribe.
I’ve met a lot of people in politics that have elevated to the top by using their BAME base and keeping them down at the same time so there is few competition.
I feel politics is saturated with fakes who use good honest people to climb to the top but what they forget they can be knocked down one day and be the same level as the people they were previously looking down on.
