Children could be are best teachers as demonstrated in this story about ,a elderly man on the verge of suicide since his wife death going to a supermarket and the rest is history.
A young innocent girl out from nowhere demanded a hug from the elderly stranger and after that a friendship was born.
I always wonder so did the man why did he catch her attention when there was a lot of elderly people in the store ?
Maybe God sent an angel to the person who was most in need and that girl truly was angel.
From there they visited each other regularly ,and the girl added new incentive for him to keep on living through his grief he had a new grandchild.
But as fate intervened the former grumpy stranger died 4 years later.
Watching his burial really hit me and the young girl who was crying in her eyes .
I feel she should be proud that man was a living mummy she added new meaning to his life and made him have a fresh taste of happiness before he died .
The parents too should be proud they raised a daughter who literally saved a man’s life and I hope she grows up to know the impact she had in that man’ life.
I realise I too want to help elderly people more as they are a demographic that tends to be ignored.
I always appreciate my mum doing my elderly neighbours bins and checking on them.
I remember when I was in my local store a old English woman tapped my hand to say she doesn’t want to go home as she has no-one and is just walking around the store,I took her number and till this day I visit/phone her.
Ask yourself genuinely do you know any elderly people or family members that you can devote some time to?
I just pray in my old age I don’t get or feel deserted, as I always stress loneliness does kill.
