Recently I went out for steak and mash with apple pie for dessert.
I had high hopes, as it was a cool-looking restaurant.
When I was expecting succulent steak dripping with jus.
And a flaky apple pie with the cinnamon sugar dusted on top.
Sadly the fantasy was different from the reality.
The steak was drier than the Sahara desert.
(Would it have killed them to have added a splash of more jus or gravy), and the pie was hard like concrete and the apples inside were scarce?
I feel some restaurants are not cooking with the same quality prior to Covid, which is sad as I know from reports buying and sourcing the best ingredients is getting increasingly harder.
But with saying that.
I still feel if standards go down, so should the prices.
I think from now on I’ll be sticking to my home-made amala and efo-riro.
It’s fool-proof and definitely plentiful.
