If they say that modern youth are complacent and not hungry to succeed.
The critics should eat up this story that Finley Hutchings has become Britain’s youngest shopkeeper at age 16 running a country clothing store.
It’s very refreshing to see a young adult making headlines for the right reasons.
I honestly don’t think I had the maturity level to run a clothing shop at his age.
I think I’d be spending more time trying out the merchandise than selling it.
It’s also an intriguing story to know the boy is so invested in his new-found career that he left school early ,and now doesn’t have any GCSEs.
I like many think it’s a gamble.
In his case it paid off.
But I would advice people should think very careful if they want to follow in his footsteps, as not everyone is lucky to stay afloat in the murky waters which is usually associated with business.
Especially during these troubled times during a Covid Era.
Personally, I think it’s always good especially people from an ethnic minority background to have education to fall back on.
They can cease a shop, but no one can cease your educational certificate.
Education is a life-time investment.
I would advise if Finley can be an astute businessman at this young age he definitely has potential to flourish in school, and should one day go back, even do online because talent like his shouldn’t be wasted.
Could you be brave to be a shopkeeper in your teens?
