Wow what can I say news we were kind of expecting, but dreaded the day it would eventually happen.
In a time of constant change and constant divide she The Queen was the constant figure that was neutral, and was a calming presence for the nation.
She literally was the face of the nation.
I still can’t believe I won’t hear the queen’s speech.
(I know some households who don’t tuck into the turkey without seeing the speech).
I’m one of the few people who can be privileged to say I met her ,and was invited to a tea party along with my mum at Buckingham Palace.
And the event was an elegant affair ,and the spread could feed an army( my personal fav was the victoria sponge cake and royal ice cream).
Few people have the presence she did when everyone was gorging on tea and scones, as soon as she came into the garden everyone descended to her and she took the time to go round and greet people with her usual diplomatic and graceful manner.
She truly was a woman of the people who served others now it’s her time to rest at peace.
We will miss you Your Majesty.
