I always say mums are like lionesses.
They would do anything to protect their cubs.
That dully applies in the case of Archie Battersbee.
His mum Hollie Dance truly went to battle for him trying to keep him alive, and despite the outcome, she won the hearts of the nation, and made most mothers re-affirm their maternal instincts.
Archie 12 years old was involved in an home accident allegedly from taking part in a TIK TOK challenge, and sustained brain injuries, since April he was in a coma.
Sadly due to no other options, his life support was switched off this Saturday at 10am.
What’s sad his parents were virtually sleeping in courts ,and losing their voices protesting for their son to be kept alive.
But sadly their efforts were in vain.
(And honestly wouldn’t you not do the same for your child.)
What is so sad the boy with a face that captured the nation died way before his time.
This situation was a no-win situation for all those involved ,and just shows how cruel life can be.
What I wish is that Archie knew how hard his parents fought for him.
I personally don’t like looking at his face too long, as it makes me more distressed and emotional, but I personally would like to remember Archie, as the boy holding the ice cream.
I hope his parents will get some sort of closure and know their boy is finally at peace.
They say it takes someone special to capture the heart of the nation.
Archie Battersbee certainly did ,so did his parents.
If any one deserved the best parents award.
The Battersbees’ would win no contest.
