Do you know when you find something you think you won’t like, but it then becomes a new prized possession.
That how Rate My Takeaway’s videos mean to me.
Why I find it authentic is that it does not have the crazy theatrics you’d spot in a Hollywood production.
It has a normal-looking middle-aged man going around Britain trying and reviewing new takeaways.
This ain’t a job for someone who wants to fit in their jeans, but as they say someone’s gotta do it.
Out of the gut-busting foods, he tasted my personal fave is the fish and chip, roast dinner and Jamaican feast (and due to my jerk chicken connoisseur ways . I believe that restaurant definitely passed the test)
What I feel really adds to his quirkiness.
He always brings his fold-it chair, even when there’s a chair available you’ll never catch him without it, and he eats without a care in the world, even when there are crowds looming.
It made me nostalgic how this man is more confident than one of my old school friends Jane, when we were in sixth form she would finish a lecture, and would be starving, but still wouldn’t eat a meal without her friends by her side.
So when I see a man eating anywhere at any time it makes me think of her, and makes me realize food eating also has a link to confidence levels.
What I also love about Danny is his humble nature he truly values his booming fanbase, and always poses with his fans, even while devouring massive portions.
So to me, he’s a man of the people, and hasn’t got too big-headed, when I watched a recent interview he did.
I was saddened when he revealed the loss of his partner, and how life is now single-handedly raising his children.
It makes me realize his humility is not false, and he’s the new representation of a modern family dynamic not by choice.
(And due to Covid 19 a lot of us can relate to this situation )
I wish him more success and (Ps Danny don’t be afraid of reaching out if you need an assistant food- tester for your next video lol, and please do a West African cuisine video )
None deserves success more than this man keep up the awesome content, and everyone check it out.
