I’m very saddened to hear Liam Payne has died.
Anyone under 30 years old knows secretly the One Direction era was the same intensity as the Beatles era.
Love there music or hate there music you cant deny they had work ethic and gave the everyday person hope that you can make your dreams come true from sheer determination.
Liam certainly had that being that he auditioned for X Factor 2 times.
Liam to me was one of the most underappreciated while at the same time loved members of the supergroup One Direction.
He was one of the best vocalists in the band and wrote a lot their top songs ,but never got the kudos he deserved.
What I will always remember the day I was sick from from flu during college was the day One direction came to fountain studios nearby and most of my friends got selfies with them,as people virtually camped out to meet them and what always struck me about One Direction especially Liam was their humility they never got swayed by the level of fame they were all so grounded.
But what I now know being older and more wiser sometimes that level of fame can be daunting and when you enter that fame world you never leave and at times you need as a human being that me time that sense of escapism.
It’s almost like fame comes at a price.
Which sadly you can’t negotiate.
And I realized appearances can be deceptive you don’t know internally what people are going through and I always was struck by how frank Liam talked about mental health that to me showed he was accepting of his struggles and at the same time encouraged more of his legion of fans to reach out for help and that to me made people connect with him on a more deeper level.
I pray for his family and his bandmates in this hard time.
What I will say everybody check on people and take care of your mental health, as that’s one of the most type of health that is always neglected and shouldn’t be.
I can’t help but wish he never auditioned for X Factor maybe he would have been still alive and happy.
You never know, but I will always remember him for being the liberal star who had a heart of gold and never forgot his roots.
Just sad that this is another story of a young talent finding fame too young and finding a space in the cemetery young too.
May his beautiful soul rest in peace and I hope in time lessons can be learned from this tragedy.
