Wow we have weathered the storm and there is now a sense of calmness which the country so desperately needs.
What ever gripe people have with the current new government,I think the country’s voice was finally heard and so the will of the people prevailed.
I think when your seen as out of touch and your party changes leaders more than I change my knickers it makes the public lose trust in the decision makers.
And once you don’t have the trust of the great British public your toast.
I truly believe every party did their best in trying circumstances I cant remember the last time we had a summer election.
I remember when some people predicted laziness will stop people going to the polls, but I think you can put your holiday to Bahamas on hold and top up on your tan later if it means the country getting legitimate governance.
Call this government anything at least you can eat with them and the poor and working class will feel represented.
I feel when you’ve been in power for 14 years you tend to get complacent, and you can’t afford to get complacent.
We need diverse opinions young and seasoned politicians, and also input from the public so the country’s progression can rise.
There’s no magic wand to fix the dire problems housing, inflation, knife crime, but at least were on an active quest for solutions.
I respect the politicians that participated in this election no election is easy it takes a lot out of you.
Even the people that didn’t win they shouldn’t lose hope everything happens for a reason, and as they say God’s time is the best.
In spirit of the election here’s a quote I came up with, and hope it catches on
Dedicated to election fever.
Election is like a beauty pageant you say the right lines to get the win and appear humble in the magnitude of your win.
But when all is said and done how many times does the winner have the chance to say thanks to all the voters or even acknowledge them helping them get the win.
But what they don’t know the runner-up notices this, and is always waiting for their downfall.
I remember when I won my election a volunteer called Tom phoned me to say congrats, but he said don’t forget the people that made you which is a common mistake by most politicians.
And to this day I go to my former ward and catch up with residents.
All I can say to all politicians be happy but stay humble and always keep in touch with your voters.
Because without them your essentially nothing.
