The Turkey/Syria earthquake really is a crisis.
It truly makes me sad for the people, as if they are starring in a disaster movie, and they are the unwilling actors.
I truly pray more can be done to assist the displaced people.
The scenes that will stick to me are the children being taken out of the rubble ,and in some cases their dead parents’ hand clinging to their feet.
Also children begging rescuers ‘don’t worry about me help my parents’.
And also the poor dog who was howling to be rescued.
(At times like this you forget about how fur friends are also affected.)
What I found also distressing is how a man lost 21 members of his family what level of consolation can heal that man.
I truly dread watching the news and seeing the death toll .
Behind those numbers is an innocent life gone way before their time.
The easiest thing is rebuilding a country, but how easy is it to rebuild people’s spirits when you go through needless trauma.
The thing that I found remarkable despite the economic distress going through in most countries of the world especially the UK, the tenacity of the people’s spirits worldwide to assist Turkey.
I realize the world we really are a global community ,and are their for everyone in the good and bad times.
What this incident just shows is life shouldn’t be taken for granted you can’t prepare for the unexpected but always prepare before you go to sleep to say to your loved ones how much you love them.
That doesn’t cost anything.
Be grateful for every day you wake up and get to create more memories with your loved ones.
