I’m a firm believer of “what you study doesn’t mean, what you have to embody”.
Life is very up and down, and I think you should be prepared for the unexpected.
They say if “one door closes another door opens”.
I know sounds cliché, but this woman I came across online is living proof of that sentiment.
Clarissa Rankin is a married woman with 2 children, and regularly uses her fanbase on TikTok to urge women to get into the trucking profession.
If this was said a few years it would be met with jest and frowns, but times are changing.
People’s minds are expanding and society is evolving, (let’s face it if we can go through the agony and miracle which is birth, then driving a truck should be a piece of cake.)
Why I’m inspired by this woman, and why I respect her and think should be acknowledged more, she said through truck driving she will be a millionaire in no time.
It’s not the conventional route.
(No pun attended)
But it’s a route that will provide countless opportunities and job security.
What I find so touching about working mothers and think should be more celebrated.
These days they can endure the hell of stressful jobs like bus driver, uber driver, just in the hopes of supporting their family and lessening the financial burden of their spouses, and still find time to help with the homework.
Not everyone has that skill of multi-tasking.
Stories like this make me realize the power of social media if it’s used in the right way. It has an outreach that can deliver positive messages to people that you’ve never even met, and change their lives for the better.
Clarissa trained for a profession in criminal justice, but all I can say is I wouldn’t want to mess with her in courtroom or on the road.
She’s the embodiment of the new era of “woman”.
(Ps anyone who can do a hard shift of truck driving, and still have time to make that awesome bowl of spaghetti for the family deserves a medal) Check her out on this youtube video under “Wife, mom and truck driver working to bring more women into the industry with viral TikTok videos”.
Trust me you will be inspired.

Motherhood is a blessing with multiple challenges particularly in developing countries. The economic meltdown and the nosediving opportunity for white collar jobs has serious adverse effects on family life therefore forcing young energetic and compassionate mothers to fined alternative means in order to support their spouses while creating enduring family life.
It is unimaginably pathetic how women in Nigeria toil and labour for daily survival and the pursuit of education for their wards without any forms of incentives from governments. The financial institutions however, find it difficult to capture the rural women who are largely nonbankable – this is an economic setback capable of fostering insecurity in any society. A discerning mind must appreciate such women who against all odds resolved to break barriers in men dominated industries with the views to fend and meet other family needs. Such incredible women are truly the salt of the world!!!
