Bionca Ellis, 34, of Cleveland, to most is the personification of evil but to me a victim of a messed up mental heath crisis.
For those who dont know the tragic case Bionca was pacing aimlessly in supermarket openly with a knife.
Which i find shocking where was the security and the customers disinterested.
Then she became fixated on a young woman and child and followed them out of the store and killed the boy Julian Wood, 3 dead leaving a nation shocked.
She was apprehended soon after but the damage was already done for the family who too me were already dealt a cruel hand in life already.
The parents are carer to disabled son and had a 3 month daughter who Julian was besotted with.
In their testimony in court they humanised their son and shown how his life had so much potential but was snuffed out before his time.
The judge handed out life imprisonment rightly so.
But what i commend him for was saying his condolences to the killers family as they too are victims in the case,
and also for highlighting how a failing mental heat system directly contributed to this tragedy.
Which could have been prevented if the system worked.
The video of the killing is eery and shows how life can change in a instance and makes most people have phobia of supermarkets as you don’t know who is around you.
The part that pulled my heart string for the mum to say she too was scared to leave the house, and if she did her son wanted her to confirm she’s safe and will return home.
I hope the family get counselling and the community continue to rally around them,
The worst crime to me is a senseless crime and this case applies.
