Feels Like yesterday

I remember the awkward breakfast and phone calls and messages on fb have you gone what are you gonna wear and when are we meeting up.
And what restaurant do we go after to drown are sorrows with Capri sun and lashings of burger sauce on our chips or celebrate with a full bucket from local kfc or a cheeky chow mein mixed with prawn rice.
Those were the days lol.
I remember  braving the storm and getting my parents to drop me and my knees buckling while waiting .
The wait for my name felt like an eternity and ironically none of my mates were there despite them all eager to arrive on time.
When i received my results  i survived i passed not with all flying colours but i passed.
The  day was truly a lesson that hard work does pay off but at the same time if you slack in some subjects it will show.
I saw a lot of fails as you can see in people faces before they utter any words.
I then went home as i couldn’t wait to tell my parents.
But i will say that that my time it was so easier you either had clearing or went straight into apprenticeships or uni
You still felt you had the world at your feet.
Now at the present economical climate more youth are avoiding uni as their too cash strapped to attend and don’t see the incentive in doing a course and being saddled with debt.
Universities are in a  fix as due to student lack of interest courses are being erased essentially costing unis money and universities I’ve heard are resorting to offering free laptops discounted rates for accommodation.
What has Britain got too where getting good results doesn’t mean you have a future ,as there’s still people who are working in Britain that are still classified as working poor. All i can say good luck to the younger generation as i truly think this is the worst time to be young person in Britain.
