How we don’t appreciate things till there gone.
When I was a teen which was some time ago sadly lol.
My post-box would be bombarded with leaflets of summer university.
Which outsiders if you don’t know is a summer program for 13-18 where you can do journalism, acting ,music production and arts, cooking basically a creative programme.
I heard around town that is the good old days now its not happing in layman terms the city or town doesn’t have money as everything revolves around money.
The creative industry is 125 billion boost to the UK economy and i think its a crying shame that it’s underinvested.
Its like yet again we are failing the future generation and contributing to the bankruptcy of british economy.
I remember attending one of the programmes and its from there i knew i wanted to be a writer as i got to develop my skills make friends during the summer that i didn’t travel.
Parents got to have more respite and gangs weren’t as rampant as they were engaged.
And most importantly it was free and food was provided all you had to do was register your interest.
London youth genuinely built their confidence.
I feel the british government and local government should be giving more incentives for youth to strive to succeed by essentially cutting these vital programs its just adding to more disillusionment in regards to their future.
Please we shouldn’t cheat youth of opportunities.
