Sadly no surprise another surprise today another school shooting in America.
It happened this Monday morning in a Christian school at Wisconsin.
At time of writing this post we don’t know the shooter or motive but know currently 3 are dead.
When is enough is enough and all lawmakers will form a coalition in the US and have a substantial debate about gun control.
One thing we take for granted in the UK gun crime is a rarity, but don’t get me wrong it still is happening but not same level of America.
I would be the number 1 advocate for home-schooling if i was a parent in America .
My heart would go weak anytime the phone rings during school time.
How sad is that if your not safe in school where are you safe and why are children now being human bulls eyes.
This crime makes me have flashbacks to another case in 1979.
The Brenda spencer case.
The 16 year old took part in a shooting at Grover Cleveland Elementary School in San Diego, California, United States. The principal and a custodian were killed, and 8 children and police officer Robert Robb were injured.
She did all this from the comfort of her bedroom.
And she was captured after making no attempt to escape and getting in a war of bullets with responding officers.
They had to use a garbage truck to block the school entrance as she was still shooting till captured.
When asked why she said infamously i hate Mondays this livens up the day.
How chilling is that.
She had history of mental health ,allegedly turbulent home life life from her recollection which has been disputed by her parents, and to me didn’t get the adequate support for someone so young displaying her worrying behaviour.
Instead she got a gun as a xmas present, and it turns out she had a brain injury from a bike accident so who knows if that contributed to her murderous actions.
But this case proves gun crime especially in schools has always been a systematic problem in US and hasn’t improved over the years.
I truly believe if this issue isn’t addressed and more is looked into mental health in gun owners.
Shootings like these will just yet again be part of the norm.
