Sometimes you think you know someone’s story ,and then later you find hidden chapters.
That to me is what then makes good reading.
And even though its an old archive, I was so happy to see the legendary Alicia Keys be candid about her struggles ,and realise she too had the same disease like me of being a people pleaser and not appreciating yourself.
I truly can relate, but I’m so happy that over the years just like her I found a cure, as I realised eventually people pleasers rarely get the same pleases back themselves.
What I want those people living in the inner-city anywhere in the world to know is that find ways to make your God-given talent make you money the right way.
That when there’s life there’s hope and Alicia Keys is living proof of that.
I just wish there is more people like Mrs Keys that when they find their escape route they also provide it for others too.
And what moved me was that in her time of self discovery and self love she still gives back and founded a charity ,and it hit me that do I do enough?, even when I think I do, and now know I will work with charities and try to establish something finally in the motherland ,as I now know I’ve been blessed in life and I want to pass that on to others that genuinely need it more than me.
We can all make time in our busy lives and give back in some way ,it wont cost you anything and truly will make a gain in someone’s life.
I truly wish the global media showcased more stories of black innovators who are changing the world on a more continuous basis.
I’m happy my sista Alicia Keys didn’t allow anyone to write her story ,and she’s still writing.
But seriously is there anything Alicia Keys can’t do?
