What I find sad about celeb culture.
When a celebrity has a meltdown they get forgotten about what made them originally hot in the first place.
That sentiment definitely applies to Mindy Mccready
She was a bubbly young blonde who burst on the music scene during the 90s and had some success with tracks like ”guys do it all the time”.
But sadly she was battling personal demons and fell in a pattern of addiction and she and her career never recovered.
And ultimately she committed suicide in 2013 at the age of 37.
I don’t think much was known about mental illness that time and I get the feeling the music industry wasn’t very patient with her if it happened now ,maybe she would have got more support and still had a career to fall back on.
I don’t think anyone is beyond help , and I think that was a tag associated with Mindy through her troubled life.
The only saving grace is now society has progressed and more current musical artists are finding healthy ways to deal with their mental health and educate their fanbases at the same time.
I definitely believe Mindy inspired the new crop of county stars we have now, and her personal issues shouldn’t overshadow the fact that her voice was utter breath-taking, which is displayed in the song below I always feel like I need a box of Kleenex anytime I listen to it.
I truly wish Mindy knew how talented and loved she was.
