Kindness Isn’t A Weakness

Be honest if you see a person sitting on their own in a café.

Would you leave the comfort of your seat and  extend the hand of friendship ,and invite that person  to join your table.

If I’m honest I’d assess the situation, and at times psych myself that maybe the person would be offended or maybe they’re waiting for someone.

But other people which I’m not gonna name have that mentality if it doesn’t concern me don’t get involved.

Most people see opportunities to do the right thing, but let them pass by  like  a ship in the  night.

But not in this story the setting a barbeque joint Oxford,Alabama a group  of young African-American men were eating at the same time as an elderly widow, and noticed she was on her own they  then took the initiative to ask her if she wanted company, and soon later a colourless friendship was born which will definitely stand the test of time.

This story showed don’t judge a book by its cover. We may look different, but we all have  the same desires to belong and feel wanted and accepted.

Some people leave restaurants with receipts, she Eleanor Baker  left the restaurant with a  new leash on life and newly adopted grandsons.

What really shook me up was when one of the generous lads said ‘’I may not be smart rich, but being kind to me is like my small contribution of changing the world’’.

To me being kind is a superpower because it’s an act which is rarely used these days , and when its used it is truly life-changing in most cases.

If we could display more acts like this we all will definitely feel subhuman ,and be a hero in that person’s eyes.

At times as human beings we should do some sort of self-reflection on how we  can improve someone’s life, not just yours.

I feel we don’t get fulfillment with frivolous luxury  goods. I feel true fulfillment comes from helping others that’s how we can enrich our own lives and others.
