While being a tv researcher she came up of\u00a0 the idea of having a music awards ceremony dedicated to honouring BAME musicians.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And after that the rest is history.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First MOBO Awards took place in 1996.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She has handed awards to artists like shola eternal Craig David the list goes one.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For her to notice that black artists were hardly recognised and appreciated for their efforts to me shows she had a eye for detail and had boldness to want to change the status quo of how black artists were ranked in the\u00a0 British music industry and world stage.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because of her more black artists are getting record deals and having platforms to shine.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I truly hope the same passion and desire she had to start her inspiring media empire\u00a0 she channels that to battle her cancer.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She is a strong willed woman so to me cancer should be afraid of her as she definitely will tackle it head on.<\/p>\n<p>Information I found about the disease and hope its of use to you the readers, as knowledge is power.<\/p>\n<p>Read Below\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">COLON CANCER: SPOT THE WARNING SIGNS?<br \/>Bowel cancer affects the large bowel, which is made up of the colon and rectum.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Such\u00a0 growths\u00a0 usually form from pre-cancerous growths.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Symptoms vary from :<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bleeding from the bottom<br \/>Blood in stools<br \/>A change in bowel habits lasting more than 2 or 3\u00a0 weeks<br \/>Rapid\u00a0 weight loss<br \/>Extreme fatigue<br \/>Stomach\u00a0 pain<br \/>Most cases have no clear cause, however, people who are more at risk:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Are over 50<br \/>Have a family history.<br \/>Have a personal history of polyps in their bowel<br \/>Suffer from inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn&#8217;s disease<br \/>Have an unhealthy lifestyle\u00a0 e.g junk food.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than nine out of ten people with stage 1 bowel cancer survive five years or more after their diagnosis.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unfortunately, only around a third of all colorectal cancers are diagnosed at this early stage.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The majority of people come to the doctor when the disease has spread beyond the wall of the colon or rectum or to distant parts of the body, which decreasing the chance of being successfully cured of colon cancer.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Bowel Cancer UK figures, more than 41,200 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year in the UK.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If suffering from any symptoms seek urgent medical help as timing is everything.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m very saddened to\u00a0 hear one of my role models\u00a0 Kanya King is battling stage 4 bowel cancer.
