If someone broke your heart in high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And later came into your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019d probably hurl insults, and then accept the overdue chocolates and flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If someone said your fat  in jest, and then apologized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019d probably accept the apology ,but still check the mirror to see if there\u2019s any resemblance of truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How would you feel if your daughter\u2019s killer asked you for forgiveness?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is the million-dollar question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Linda White partly answered it, and the results were mind-blowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her 26 year old pregnant  daughter Cathy Lyn O\u2019Daniel stopped  her car in 1986  in Texas to help 2 teenage lads that were having car trouble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that generous act it  was repaid by being raped and murdered by the two lads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were caught and both sentenced to prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to an organization the mum Linda and her daughter apprehensively met  one of the killer\u2019s  years after the murder in the first step to closure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were shocked to meet a man who was actually a  scared boy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All I can say you know someone had a raw deal in life ,when even the prison warden said \u2018\u2019Gary never stood a chance in life\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His life was far from a  fairytale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was  abandoned when  he was born by his mum, subjected to sexual abuse from his stepfather, and made 10 previous suicide attempts when he  was a pre-teen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And due to the guilty verdict and no trial this was all  their first meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was the chilling part of the session was when Gary recounted the murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seconds before Cathy was executed she looked  her killers in the eyes, and said \u2018\u2019I forgive you and God forgives you\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That again showed the type of person again Cathy was, and what good home she came from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gary Brown\u2019s frank honesty was to me a healer for Linda White and her granddaughter ,and his remorse was genuine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To me the meeting was truly needed and helpful, and shows we should give credit to the prison system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 At times it can rehabilitate the previous unredeemable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What made me weak in the knees,was  when Linda said she forgave him, and wouldn\u2019t block his parole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You as the audience just pray that Gary Brown ends up forgiving himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I believe ironically that\u2019s what Cathy would have wanted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t get me wrong murder is wrong, but at times you have to check the extenuating circumstances to build the true picture of the psych of the killer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What moved me also is  when they took a group   picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It truly felt like a family picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Family that  sadly Gary Brown never had and craved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s tragic  who knows what Gary\u2019s life could have been if he had  the  right stable family dynamic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe Cathy would still be alive today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe we have to accept society plays a part in how killers are formed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then Gary Brown has been released and has met Linda White.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again this story helps restore my faith in the human race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But honestly if you were Linda could you easily forgive your daughter\u2019s killer?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
